WHAT IS SMART AND SKILLED?

National Training Solutions is a proud provider of The NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled Program. Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system and is helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers. Under this program, most of our courses are partially or fully subsidised based on the eligibility of the individual applying for these courses listed below.

What Courses can I do with NTS that are under the Smart and Skilled funding Program?

Full Qualifications

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SUBSIDISED TRAINING UNDER SMART AND SKILLED THROUGH NTS?

If you live or work in NSW.

AND BE: 

  • An Australian citizen; or
  • An Australian permanent resident; or
  • A humanitarian visa holder; or
  • A New Zealand citizen;


AND: 

  • Are aged 15 years or older; and
  • Are no longer in secondary education.

Traineeships

National Training Solutions is a proud provider of training for traineeships in NSW. Currently, NSW traineeships are fee free! Meaning no more upfront training costs for students or employers.

WHAT ARE TRAINEESHIPS?

Traineeships is a combination of structured training and employment working together to provide the training you need to be qualified. Most traineeships are usually between 12 and 24 months. They help individuals enter into an industry and gain the training they need. Traineeships are a paid employment either full-time or Part-time and provides the training and assessment without leaving your worksite.

What next?

  1. You will need to find an employer that is seeking to employ a trainee in there organisation.

  2. Get your employer to contact any of the following Apprenticeship Network Providers:

Smart and Skilled FAQs

Each course has varying subsidies that Smart and Skilled provide. A quick way to find the subsidy range for your course is to visit the NTS course page to find the smart and skilled subsidies available for your course.

No, Smart and Skilled will not be asking you to pay back any fees.

No, if you are employed you can apply for a partial subsidy that can reduce the original fee significantly.
